About Me

I’m a Los Angeles native. I wrote poetry as a child and gradually started crafting short stories and fiction in college. Writing, cooking, and traveling have always been a part of my soul. I hold a B.A. degree in English, a degree in the culinary arts and sciences, and have been cooking professionally for 25 years. This path enabled me to become a food and travel writer for a James Beard award-winning magazine, as well as a career in recipe writing, development, and editing. I’ve cooked in fine dining restaurants and corporate cafes, braved the world of catering, and taught cooking classes out of my own culinary studio.

What I love most: The beauty of nature, animals, dancing, music, laughing, hot stone massages, the works of Shakespeare, anything smoked, Halloween, and bourbon whiskey. I’m a free spirit and an adventurer who gets bored quickly. I know a little bit about a lot of things. I enjoy the pleasure of my own company. I intend to keep marking off places to visit on my bucket list even though my dream of traveling to all 7 continents was realized in 2022. I’m looking forward to whatever the future may bring.
